Independent and Accessible Since 1971
When OIP was established in 1971, not many could have imagined that it would become the last remaining independent orthopedic group in Harrisburg; moreover, one of the few remaining independent groups throughout the country.
Much has changed in our healthcare community over the past five years – private practices consolidating, selling, and becoming part of larger hospital groups, and insurers determining where patients can go for treatment. Despite these changes, Orthopedic Institute of Pennsylvania is now celebrating its 50th year of service to the Greater Harrisburg area and surrounding communities. We have remained independent and accessible to patients.
A Legacy of Care
Over the past 50 years, our physicians have cared for generations of patients – trust in the group has passed from parent to child to grandchild. “We feel that these generations of satisfied patients are the best and strongest sources of referral to our practice,” shared Thompson. “Our physicians never take for granted the trust and confidence of our patients.”
OIP has taken on various practice names since 1971, but the common thread has been our exceptional legacy of physician leaders. We owe a great deal to our founding physicians and the philosophy of service and care they instilled at the beginning. Those personal values are still a big part of who we are and what sets us apart.
50 Years Strong, and Growing
In our 50th year of practice, we are excited to share that the OIP brand has not only withstood the test of time, but we we continue to grow and expand to meet our patient’s needs and exceed expectations.
