Dr. Buerk has a special interest in Robotic Joint Replacement, Hip, Knee and Shoulder Surgery including Sports Medicine and General Orthopedics.
Dr. Buerk attended The Pennsylvania State University, the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his orthopedic training at the Pinnacle Health System where he scored among the highest in the nation on his orthopedic training examinations. He is a native of the mid-state area having graduated from Hershey High School in 1993.
Dr. Buerk is Board Certified with the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, American Osteopathic Association, Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, North American Spine Society and Pennsylvania Orthopedic Society.

I had an appointment with Dr. Burk about my knee. Dr. Burk didn’t seem to care one bit about the things I was mentioning to him about my knee problems. I mentioned to him about the pain I have, and the fact that my knee feels very unstable. And he narrowed it down to two issues. One, I have hyper extensive knees which is common in people who are obese, but very uncommon in someone my size (5’9 180lbs), and that I have weak legs. I work a physically demanding job and I walk up and down stairs all day, and lift objects between 35-70lbs on average 110-160 a day depending on how busy the work schedule is. The entire 7 minutes he spent in the room felt extremely rushed and like it was a burden on him and his time to be doing his job. I wish I was exaggerating when I tell you he said, and I quote “I was trained to cut people and fix people, I was not trained in diagnosing problems that cause pain, and frankly I don’t care to learn that because I was not trained in that field.” If hyper extensive knees are very uncommon in someone my size why was that not an area of concern? Why did he not seem to have a care in the world about what I was trying to tell him about myself? These are questions I will never have answered because I will not be a returning patient. So unless you have already seen a doctor and have been diagnosed for your knee problems, I would advise to not see Dr. Burk the knee specialist. I literally felt as if my concerns and issues were a burden to him. Doctors like Dr.Burk give healthcare professionals a bad rap. -10 out of 10. Would not recommend. Would highly recommended going somewhere else for your knee problems.

I'm going to make a post about OIP Dr Burke ruined my life December 15th 2022 I had a left knee replacement he put too short of a rod in my leg any admitted it that's why I had to have a second surgery a revision I believe it was September 19th 2024 the first knee replacement it was going well all of a sudden I start falling all over the place my leg kept going out that was so full of pain and regret before I did any surgeries I was in pain I was bone on bone but I wasn't this bad I feel so suicidal and filled with regret Dr Burke what is in denial talking about physical therapy I did physical therapy and it's doing nothing I got a gym membership with a personal trainer Megan that works in therapy gave me options and paperwork to do exercise at home can I tell you nothing helps anymore I am 57 years old God knows I feel like I'm 80 Dr Burke gives you that intimidating I don't give a s*** look an attitude he don't want you to complain about what he done to you they think Adam seems to think Physical Therapy helps every patient but it does it I really believe he done something inside my leg that's causing me problems I tried talking to this man Dr Burke sometimes I think about going back to work but I physically and mentally can't if I should pass a suicide my family will make another post I'm almost to my Breaking Point if this office removes my post I would truly know that they meant me no good from the very start I have read and past post after the surgeries doctor's office remove the bad post reviews but that was after my surgeries I regret it because I looked there and everything was so good see the bad post until after the surgery and then it was removed when I went back to look for it y'all just don't know Dr Burkhead promise me an ice machine what you lied about the last time I was in this office he was supposed to give me a brace which you did not I was home dying of pain when I ran out of pain medicine Aaron had to call him on his vacation on his vacation to refill my medication God knows I wish I saw the signs but I didn't I was just trying to better myself I was a direct care worker and I couldn't work there anymore cuz I didn't want to drop a patient so I had to get a McDonald's job and I couldn't do that cuz my kneecap buckling Dr Burke ruined my life now all I can do set home watch TV read and wait can get SSDI I don't even know if I would live to see if I'm eligible I hope someone reads this if you want to or have to get a knee replacement please check your doctor out thoroughly at least one who cares because Dr Burke cares about nobody but himself and his family and I get it how can you cut somebody up invest their leg up and ruined my life I know you have to be losing sleep no I'm not the only person going through this I'm in tears in pain every night tears when I wake up in the morning because I woke up I just hope God forgives me when I get to that point be aware Dr Burke🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🚨 he has a cold dark uncaring disrespectful disregarding heart he might got all the degrees in the world but he's lacking one thing as a doctor and that's owning his s*** a compassion and understanding for his patience that leads them to suicide

Dr. Buerk is a consummate professional and kind to boot! He performed a TKR on my left knee in 2016, and it's great. I had issues with a previous TKR on my right (that he did NOT do) about 3-4 years ago which was resolved by physical therapy. Now I need an adjustment to the right that I am confident will be done correctly and safely. ALSO, the Camp Hill OIP office was efficient, fast, caring, and comfortable. I would recommend OIP to anyone.
