Dr. Maugle earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was captain of the varsity football team. He received a medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. His Orthopedic Surgery residency was completed in UPMC Pinnacle, Harrisburg, where he had the distinction of serving as Chief Resident. He received Fellowship training in Orthopedic Spinal Surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC.
Dr. Maugle is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon specializing in comprehensive spine surgical care including minimally invasive and motion-sparing techniques, scoliosis and deformity surgery, and revision surgical treatment. He also treats general orthopedic conditions including hip and knee surgeries as well as orthopedic fractures and traumas. Dr. Maugle is committed to providing the best possible outcomes for patients with the least invasive surgery possible.
Dr. Maugle holds memberships with American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), North American Spine Society (NASS), Society of Lateral Access Surgery (SOLAS), American Osteopathic Association of Orthopedics (AOAO).

I have been having low back pain for a few years and kept putting off going to the doctor. I finally decided it was time and the staff went out of their way to get me in an appointment the same day.The staff was very professional, courteous and caring from appointment scheduling through x-rays and checkout. The amount of time I had to wait in the office to see the doctor was minimal. I personally saw Dr. Maugle, he took his time in explaining everything from my symptoms to reviewing x-rays and next steps in treatment. Dr. Maugle was very thorough, I did not feel rushed and his bedside manner is top notch. I highly recommend OIP and more specifically Dr. Maugle to anyone having issues with hip/knee/back pain!

After multiple poor medical experiences with doctors following a back injury, I was referred to OIP. Dr. Maugle took time to explain the X-rays and the MRI piece by piece and explained the pain I'm experiencing and why recovery has taken 5 months to get better to this point. The office handled everything when the previous office didn't transfer any of the documentation or records. The staff as a whole were polite and pleasant. I would recommend them so far.

I just finished my year since my second hip replacement with Dr Maugle. He is a wonderful surgeon and has made my life enjoyable again. I can walk 1 to 2 miles a day and excise without pain! I even climbed a waterfall in Jamaica a few months ago, all this with my 68th birthday next week. I had arthritis on both hips and was very happy with my surgery. As long as you exercise before and after you will have successful results. Dr maugle is the surgeon to go to.

I am so pleased with the care I've received from Dr. Mangle. Went to him in pain, after seeing others who only wanted to give me meds and injections that didn't work, Dr Maugle seen how serious this was for me and made some suggestions. Because I've tried everything and my last injection made my condition worse, surgery was my suggestion. He explained everything to me very well and I was comfortable with my decision. I'm so grateful for a dr who listened to me and not just what the test showed. I will recommend him to everyone who is going through the same thing. Each office visit has been great, no long wait times which is a plus.
